Jwell Machinery and SABIC have jointly built a laboratory focusing on advanced extrusion applications in new energy, metal substitution, and circular economy. The opening ceremony was held in Liyang, Jiangsu province, China, on August 30.
The joint laboratory will leverage JWELL’s expertise in plastic extrusion and SABIC’s rich material
portfolio to jointly develop extrusion material applications and solutions.

The opening ceremony was witnessed by JWELL Chairman He Haichao, SABIC Global Application Development and Industry Solutions Director Lina Prada, representatives of industry associations and government officials.
“In a highly competitive market environment, our end customers have dreams of R&D innovation and are eager to break through the siege of homogeneous competition through product diversification and differentiation,” said He Haichao in his speech. “It is based on this consideration that I
think close cooperation between raw material manufacturers and equipment manufacturers has become particularly important.”

JWELL and SABIC are currently working closely together to develop material formulation and extrusion process of polypropylene (PP) foam materials, metal and thermosetting material
replacement solutions, as well as new energy vehicles, energy storage and circular economy
applications.
Through the joint efforts of both parties, some projects have achieved breakthrough progress
and demonstrated key advantages in related application fields.
With the opening of the joint laboratory, the two parties will carry out deeper cooperation in the research and development of new materials in more fields and the promotion of circular
economy.
